I want to encourage each of you to vote. This is how we ensure that Vitalia remains the beautiful, vibrant community that we all love.
Because I am running for re-election. I am no longer an unknown commodity.
When considering a person for re-election, only two questions are meaningful:

This past year, as Board Vice President, I helped Board President, Karen Sutliffe, address important issues facing our community. Throughout my term, I have been the “legal guy.” The “rules guy.”
Ad-Hoc Documents Committee: I participated in the completion of the update and revision of our governing documents.

Architectural Review Committee: I assisted in preparing updated Architectural Review Requirements for the Board to review and approve.
Rules & Regulations Committee: Once the governing documents were updated, I helped establish this committee and then helped Susan Martin to make the group operational.

In the construction defects lawsuit, I have championed the fight to seek a settlement that will stop the hemorrhaging cash flow that we are now experiencing. This lawsuit has resulted in the decline of our property values.

The job of our Board is to ensure that each of us can enjoy our homes and our community to the fullest while maintaining our financial health and stability. Towards that goal, our Board must anticipate and address the major issues facing our community. Three items come to mind:
1. Address all the construction defects identified during our lawsuit by having a clear understanding of how we can/should remediate them.
2 Establish a capital projects committee to address point #1, and prioritize the entire list. This committee would be in support of the current buildings and grounds committee (which primarily addr

2 Establish a capital projects committee to address point #1, and prioritize the entire list. This committee would be in support of the current buildings and grounds committee (which primarily addresses day-to-day operational issues).
3. Create a comprehensive compliance program. We currently do not have a comprehensive compliance program that addresses our governing documents and all our rules and regulations. Without such a program, we can be accused (and have been accused) of selective compliance and have our rules & regulations declared null and void by the courts. This has already cost us thousands of dollars.
